Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 6 facts about yourself. In the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.

1. I make really good gazpacho and apple pies, but not necessarily at the same time.
2. I sort my candy by color or flavor as I eat it.
3. I'm a news junkie
4. I've sung opera for 20 years
5. I love driving, but not commuting
6. I have an ugly skull, discovered by shaving my head as a teenager

I tag anyone else who hasn't done it who feels like revealing themselves.

I'm a news junkie too - when interesting things happen CNN might be on 24 hours a day. Last thing I watched non-stop was hurricane Katrina.

I love opera! What roles do you sing?

I'm a coloratura so usually things like Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini, et al. I know it's blasphemy but I hate the Magic Flute but the Queen of the Night is one of those roles that just won't die for me... LOL! Occasionally I get to do the pants roles in heavier operas like Faust or Un Ballo en Maschera. The heaviest role I'v ever woked is Gilda in Rigoletto. If I make it inot heaven God will let me do Violetta, but here on earth I'd never get through the second act. :-(
Do you sing?

One of my favorite voices, the coloratura! Ahhhh, and you even sing my favorite coposers, and favorite roles! I am particularly fond of Donizetti and Bellini, and was just listening to "Maria Stuarda" last week. I wish someone would revive that one! It hasn't been done in ages, and ages. In fact the whole 3 queens cycle would be wonderful..."Anna Bolena", "Maria Stuarda", and "Roberto Devereux" which no one has done since Sills, I think. I would pay vast sums, and travel great distances to see that! ;)

When I lived in California I used to go to the Met by train every year, and saw a lot in San Francisco too. I have seen many of the greats...Sutherland, Horne, Pavarotti, Domingo, Plishka, Marton, Sills, Peters, Bergonzi, Neblett, and so forth.

Hahahaha! No, I don't think it's blasphemy in the least! It's not one of my favorites either. But, I do think the QoN can be sort of fun. I've seen it at least 3 times, once at the Met with the worst QoN EVAR!!, once in San Francisco, and somewhere else I can't remember. It's rather silly.

Then you must play Oskar in "Ballo"? That's a fun role, and another favorite opera. Saw that one at the Met many years ago. Gilda? Wow...massively impressed. :D I do hope you get your wish to play Violetta one day! Let me know. I'll try to get there!

No...I don't do what you would call "singing", unfortuantely. Perhaps in my next life. For now, I am just a costumer. :D Thanks for answering my question! Let us all know when and where you are performing when you do the next time. I'd love to see you perform. You don't by any chance happen to the mezzo, Jane Henschel do you? We were friends decades ago. Thanks again! Tah!!
