*thud* That never happens... Still, when
colleency says there ae only 50 CC enrollments left, I am rather forced to think ahead. So, the check went in the mail on Tuesday and I can only hope that it will get there before the 50th other application does. :-)
My questions are to those who have done CC before... What to wear for what? I remember seeing somewhere that they don't recommend being in costume for classes (comfort and room issues, I guess) but everyone was talking about what to wear on what days. Does that mean everyone was wearing costumes all day anyway? Are there any themes chosen yet (like the fantasy theme of Thursday '06)?
I want to make all-new stuff for this since I have a good 9 months or so... off the top of my head, I'll need 3 day dresses for the halls, something special for the gala, and maybe new undies if there's another undie breakfast - though maybe this year we can get rsvp's so we can all sit together. I'm skipping the tea. Am I missing anything or planning too much?
Who else is going in 2007? After all these years in teh same damn toen, I can't believe I actually got my sh*t together enough to enroll - I am excited already. :-)

Date: 2006-09-14 10:50 pm (UTC)I took 4 complete costumes to CC this year, and wore one of them twice. You're local-ish so you could theoretically get away with more, but I don't think anyone gets more than one costume a day out of CC, anyway (except for the gala night. And if you decide to wear something different for the tea). Next year I'm going to plan for more comfy costumes as back-ups in case one of my less-comfy (and more spectacular) costumes become problematic (ie. the Bermondsey gown, which turned out to be a hair too small to wear comfortably).

Date: 2006-09-14 10:53 pm (UTC)I try to have costumes during the day, but mostly people don't wear them during the day... just a few of us like to while we can! If I'm in an all day class, I'll wear street clothes for sure, or one that involves fitting, etc. I'm sure you'll come up with some great stuff to wear!

Date: 2006-09-14 11:54 pm (UTC)I try to wear something each evening, but I don't dress up for classes.
Last year, I wore 50's Thursday night (about 2 weeks later, I remembered that I do have something fantasy - d'oh), 30's Friday night, Firefly Saturday night (I didn't go to the gala), Victorian underwear Sunday morning and Erte to the tea.
Of course, I'm not as fast a sewer as you are either!

Date: 2006-09-15 01:46 am (UTC)I usually do the wear costumes at night, not during the day thing -- except I sometimes dress up if I'm teaching a class (dress in that era). I did more daytime dressing this past year and I have to say, it was irritating. Even when I did 1940s, I was wearing hose and other stuff and I would have been happier if I'd just gone for comfy wear. And I'm the type who totally doesn't get bothered by spending all day at faire in a costume! I don't know why it bugs me in classes...
