New SoCal faire coming up...looking for street musicians

... and Gay Linn is the innaugural Queen, too! :-) For those that don't know, Gay Linn plays QE1 at the big RPFS. It be just like home! LOL

    California Renaissance Faire is looking for pass the hat musicians !!!!

 

    Easy administration: 

-. NO booth or registration fees

-. NO percentage of your hat

-. NO percentage of you CD sales

-. NO one calling you a beggar

 

    What is expected from you: 

-. Renaissance music

-. Renaissance Instruments

-. Renaissance costume

-. Renaissance accent

-. If you have CD's then put them in plain brown paper, just like back in Agoura

-. Live musicians playing in the streets

-. Be nice to the guests

    That's it... I think

Sigh. Just what the world needs: Another Renaissance fair. Can't people come up with *anything* else?

The only good thing I can imagine about it is that it does give you somewhere else to wear your gorgeous dresses.

Why can't we get a good Dickens Faire down here? Or one of those beautiful 18c fetes like they throw in Europe?

I will do anything for my buddy John, so I post the info and know that people who do street ren music don't get many outlets, least of all that pay money, but I'm not sure I'll be going. The site sure looks lovely, though.

And after all these years of being owned by The Devil and treated like bog minions in some stinky pit of hell, perhaps the time is right to grow something new.

It gives me greater confidence that this will not be a complete tractor pull.

These events are not easy to get off the ground but it gives me hope that they have involved people like John and your wife - it tells me they care about quality and there should be a minimum of hobbits and klingons that tend to invade small faires. :-)
