A second day at the faire wherein a funny thing is discovered...

When I don't have to worry all day about getting to this song set, or that dance set, I have time to relax and wander aimlessly around the faire, visiting as I go. And when I have that luxury, a funny thing happens. I collect a small band of handsome, well-dressed gentlemen who flatter me ruthlessly and bring me chocolates and lemonade. *sigh* Why can't life be like this all the time? Why can't all my clothes be like my Venetian gown? Why can't all spiffy men in spiffy clothes treat me like I'm IN my Venetian dress even when I'm not?

Mysteries to be pondered but never to be answered... This is what playing dress-up is all about!

It also gets me quite fired up to finish the PDSvN dress before I go back out there in 3 weeks. Can it be done? Another mystery to ponder...

My shoes are divine! They are so red, like ruby slippers. Shinier than yours so they don't really look the same. :-) I am debating over them, though. They are a tad too big and he already took them in once. I added another insole so I could wear them this weekend and see if they'll be ok and they're fine. I am trying to decide if I want to send them back to be taken in a little again, or if I just want to leave the two insoles in for extra padding. I think I'll probably keep tham as is. :-)

I was far to busy having my every whim catered to to take pictures. If there are any out there I'd love copies because now that I am awake from my delicious dream, memory fades, you know...

No Italian dances yet. First trip I saw them doing dances I didn't know. Second trip, I was never near court when they happened to dance. :-( No worries, I'll catch them at it sooner or later. Any luck on a cd of the songs? Memeory is fading of the dances as well because I cannot easily practice without music.

The Pfalzgräfin Dorothea Sabina von Neuburg dress from Janet Arnold's PoF.
It's been a long term project that has started & stalled several times. I don't work well unless I have a deadline and since the faire can't get it together enough to hold their contest in the new location, I have no deadline. :-(

Besides, I have a feeling that naked I would get still another reaction than I get to the red dress... not that that's a bad thing... hmmmmmmmmmm... I wonder if our costume Tzarina would object...

By all means, get yourself a red dress. This was a day every girl should have. :-) There are plenty of days for the German hats that make people go either "cool" or "huh?" but there should be at least one day a year in a red dress... and you SO have the hair for it! Those boys wouldn't stand a chance...
