Progress on Claire's Faire Waire

I often have the impression that my dresses make themselves. I have to do the work, of course, but regardless of what design I have when I start a dress, it makes its own decisions about how it wants to look and thwarts any efforts I make to the contrary.
"I want THIS shoulder treatment," nope, it wants THAT so THIS won't work no matter how I try. Once I step back and accept what it wants to be, I have no more troubles putting it together.
So, Claire's little dress is finally coming together and it is much fancier than I originally intended. She now has white-on-black embroidered sleeves and forepart with watermellon shot silk trim and gold clasps up the front. The watermellon silk is sooooo lovely that I might make her an Italian bonnet of it.
And I'm trying to get ahold of a digital camera so I can upload some pictures.

My shoes are coming! My Shoes are coming! John called and my beautiful, custom made, Elizabethan dancing shoes in RED are on their way! They'll be here by the weekend! SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!
