... and I was completely delighted.
What a wonderful adaptation! It's visually stunning, often looking like a Maxfield Parrish painting, and the casting is excellent, starting with our lovely Lucious Malfoy as Mr. Darling/Cap'n Hook (Jason Isaccs).
The Peter is a perfect mix of innocence and maliciousness. The Wendy is warm and wonderful and quite an actress for her age. You may notice many of your favorite English Shakespeareans popping in and out of the screen and remember them in one of your favorite Branagh films...
I have never read the books so I don't know much of the dialog is from them or if it was just well written by the screen writer, but there are many really insightful moments about the difficulties of growing up, and the movie is much deeper than it seems.
Anyway, if you check it out I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. :-)
