My old voice teacher, who was 90 when he died and had 12 children during war years, used to tell me, "Every child comes with his own loaf of bread."

I never wanted kids at all until I'd been married a while to someone I knew would be the best daddy in the world. But once I had Claire, I knew what my teacher meant, and I wondered what was so terrifying about this tiny helpless piece of my soul?

Babies really don't cost much. Your body will make the best food they can get, everything else is LOVE and diapers. :-) All they want is your attention, and they've never had other parents to compare you to. :-) By the time they start to cost money, with school, etc. your lives will have adjusted to fit them in, and your income probably wll have adjusted as well.

Please don't let money stop you from being a parent.
