Effigy bodies progress

3/4 of the way done with the binding... we hates it, we do! But almost done. Then I'm thinking if I end up wearing this to the Sundie Undie breakfast, I can't use grommets. ggggrrrrrrrrr. Of course it's laced front AND back... double gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I want metal rings to support the lacing holes but can't find any that aren't split. Has anyone used washers with success?

I use soldered jump rings from Firemountain. Come in packs of 20 for $4.52. Couple packs should do. They can distort if you're, say, forcing yourself into a too small corset, but it's better than having your fabric rip from the stress, let me tell ya.

I used split jewellery jump rings on my effigy corset. No problem whatsoever with them. They didn't pull out or anything like that. To start with I buttonholed very closely all round the ring and through the hole.

Lack of time then meant I had to just quickly whip stitch 3 - 4 stitches round each ring and through the hole but they have held very well all this time. And, I've had the corset for the past 2 years or so and they are perfect - better than the small grommetts I used on the back.

Brass ones, cheep. I haven't ordered from them, but others have said the quality is good.
