PROOF!

I have actually been sewing on Pinkie so here I offer proof...

The bodice, so far... which just needs a little finishing to the binding...

And everything flopped on the floor...
... to give you kind of an idea of where it's going...

And lastly, a close-up of the fabric...
... with the trim and possible fabric for the underskirt...
It's similar to the pink shot taffeta that [personal profile] jubilima posted for her (possible) pink Venetian, and I'd really prefer a green silk to bring out the green in the trim, but it'll do if I can't find what I want in green.

Let me just state for the record that the online pix looked much more salmon pink than fuchsia. I never would have bought fuchsia and it was darn-near impossible to find any fabric of the same pink to match it. I needed it for binding and hemming and sleeve lining, etc. but this one was too purple, and that one was too dark, and those were too whatever! Very frustrating. I finally ended up paying $20 for one yard of this china silk *cough* which is almost as much as I paid for the whole 4 yards of the gold/pink sari! Sheesh. But it does match perfectly. :-)

Yeah, I have to admit I had to talk myself into this one. When I regained my sight after opening the package I still liked the fabric a lot, even if it is rather painful, that I got to the "f*ck it" point and decided to do it anyway. Tee Hee!

Well, I've got a scary brown sari myself which I don't know how to use. The silk in that one is so sheer, I'm not sure how to treat it, in addition to the colour being, well, brown. Maybe I need to pull it out and ask it what it wants to be, if anything.

Yours is eminently suited for a Venetian, at least there is that :)
